What is Crossball? Crossball became famous through a US television programme. The lively and action-packed game is now also a hype in Germany and is gaining more and more fans. The trend sport is played with a soft yellow ball and a trampoline as a net in the centre. The round playing field is unlimited. Usually, two teams of two players compete against each other in crossball. How is crossball played? Crossball has a lot in common with the rules of volleyball: 2 teams of 2 players face each other at right angles when serving and try to score points. The rallies have the same rhythm as in volleyball. When serving, the ball is hit with the flat of the hand onto the net in the direction of the opposing team. As soon as the ball is in play, you are allowed to move freely around the court. The team that has to receive the ball can pass the ball back and forth up to twice. On the third contact at the latest, the player must smash the ball into the net. The opponent must now return the ball. If he fails to do so or if the ball falls to the ground during the pass, the other team is awarded a point. The players may use all parts of their body (except their feet) to return the ball. The aim of the game is to hit the small ball onto the elasticated net in such a way that the other team has no chance of getting to the ball. Points are scored when a team can no longer return the ball to their team-mate.
