How long do I need to inflate the board?
This depends on the volume of the board, so it is not possible to give an exact time. With the MINT LAMA 2.6 litre double-stroke pump, it usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on your physical condition. Thanks to the 30% higher volume compared to conventional pumps, you save a remarkable amount of time. Initially, the double stroke function helps to inflate the volume of the board more quickly. As soon as it gets harder, the single function is recommended. If the warm-up before paddling is too much for you, you can switch to the MINT LAMA electric pump. This can be operated with a rechargeable battery or via the car 12V connection.
What pressure do I need to inflate the board to?
Most boards need to be inflated to 15 PSI, which corresponds to approx. 1 bar. The exact pressure required by the board is usually stated on the valve itself or in the operating instructions. We recommend inflating the MINT LAMA SUPs to 13/14 PSI, as very good stability is already achieved at 13/14 PSI.
Important note: The board is designed for a maximum inflation pressure of 15 PSI. If the board is left in the sun for a longer period of time, the pressure in the board can increase significantly due to the heat. To avoid overstretching or cracking, it is strongly recommended to reduce the pressure. After sunbathing, the pressure can be increased again and the SUP can be put into use. When the board is in the water (even longer), the water temperature reduces the risk of overstretching. Damage caused by overheating is not covered by the warranty.
Why is the pressure gauge on my pump not moving?
The board needs a certain basic volume of air / pressure until the pressure gauge (the pressure indicator) moves. This only starts at approx. 7 PSI (= approx. 110 pump strokes). Therefore, the display is often not broken, but there is a lack of pressure in the board.
